The StoryI started reading this manga after watching a few episodes of the anime version in which led me to addiction.I love the dark fairytale like theme of the story.Story arcs tend to span over a few chapters.Never too long, it is still hard to wait for the next chapter every month. The stories are interesting & exciting with its twists & turns to the plot. The story is never hard to follow & is not always constantly dark & gloomy.Humour is inserted here & there once in a while twists in situations are very creative.
The CharactersThe 2 characters, Sebastian & Ciel are developed well.Ciel is portrayed as intelligent & mature.Although he is mature, he is still a child & the author shows that very clearly through his tiny acts of kindness & sometimes rashness in making decisions.Sebastian has his picture painted as perfect demon.Literally perfect, the author shows him as good... no i mean perfect in every single thing. His identity as a demon is shown in the sins he has with hardly an ounce of empathy (Sounds like I'm bashing him O.0;)Other supporting characters are not fleshed out as much but they too have unique personalities e.g. Grell
The ArtMost girls will love the covers of Sebastian. He is after all super bishounen, an attracting point of the manga's art.Minus the bishounens here the art is just wow.Colours used in the cover volumes are dark & the art has a gothic feel to it.Very victorian, very dark. Details on tea sets & food are drawn in great detail & chibis are drawn cute & simple. The cakes drawn really make me have a sugar crave. The background of old english buildings are gorgeous.
EnjioymentIt was hard waiting for the next chapter every month. The story is just that intriguing.I enjoyed the series greatly.Kuroshitsuji has become one of my personal favourites.
Anime vs MangaIf you are afraid of being bored as you re-read the story again after watching.Don't worry the anime is pretty much different. In fact the story line has been changed. The animes have introduction of characters that do not appear in the manga so you get a different experience.

Note:Kuroshitsuji contains violence. The violence is not too extreme though.
